Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.
A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing. To contact your local Health Visitor please call 01746 711958
The Community Care Co-Ordinator offers a signposting service for frail and vulnerable patients, their family and/or carers, to save patients time in accessing local services.
Are you feeling lonely or isolated and finding it difficult to do every day practical tasks like:
Going to the shops, visiting your partner’s grave, attending an appointment, playing scrabble, card games, doing a bit of gardening, chatting, visiting places of interest, reading a newspaper, a book, or your post to you, this is not an exhausted list.
We do NOT provide personal care, as this is provided by Social Services, it is more about companionship and stopping loneliness and helping the person feel valued and part of the community again.
Then our volunteers could you help?
This is such a wonderful project that has already helped support many in our community, if you feel you could do with some compassionate help from our volunteers then please leave your details with a receptionist who will pass your contact details on to the Care Coordinator 01746 780553, who will then visit you at home and talk through the details with you, following this she will match you up with one of our fabulous volunteers who will then arrange to come out and see you.
Please note that this is not an organisation but local citizens who have volunteered as part of a project supported by the Severn Hospice and Alveley Medical Practice to support our local community in being able to live life to the full and stop social isolation
